What it isA consumable that runs out
Bench jobCleaning and finishing

We prepare our 7033 putty for dry cleaning tasks across the movement and casing components. A small piece torn from the block gathers loose debris, finger marks, and excess oil from bridge recesses. You work it between the fingers to expose a fresh surface as the compound loads up.

Dry compound action

The putty gathers dust, dried oils, and loose particles on contact without wet solvents. It lifts foreign matter directly off plates, bridges, and dial surfaces during dry assembly at the bench.

Kneading and shaping

Tear off a small portion and shape it to a point or wedge with your fingers. Kneading the material turns the loaded surface inward, bringing fresh compound to the contact face for the next component.

Handling small parts

A dab of the material holds small pivots, screws, or balance springs steady during inspection under the loupe. It releases the piece cleanly when you draw the tweezers away, leaving no residue behind.

Storage between jobs

Keep the block wrapped in its protective sleeve when it rests on the bench tray. Shielding the compound from ambient workshop dust preserves the clean working face until you tear off the next piece.

Keeping the bench clean

Cleaning putty and what it lifts, why solvents are kept away from some surfaces, the point of a bench mat and a tray with a lip, cloths and brushes, and how tools are put away so the next job starts on a clear board.
