Rodico Premium Dry Cleaning Compound

We prepare our 7033 dry cleaning putty for picking up excess oil, loose dust, and marks left on movement components during assembly. The compound takes shape under the fingers and holds a point when rolled. It lifts debris on contact without requiring a liquid bath.

Shaping the compound

Tear off a small portion and knead it between the fingertips. You can roll it to a point to reach between bridge recesses or flatten it against a pegwood stick to dab a flat plate.

Lifting oils and marks

The white formulation absorbs oil spots, smudges, and stray particles from balance wheels, train wheels, and dial surfaces. It collects residue directly into the body of the material without smearing across the metal.

Working with pegwood

Press a small ball onto the sharpened end of an orange wood stick. This gives you a rigid handle for probing pinions, jewel holes, and cap jewels without bringing fingers near the movement.

Fresh working surfaces

As the putty gathers dirt and oils, fold the used portion inward to expose a clean face. When the mass becomes loaded with grease, discard it and draw a fresh piece from the wrapper.
