Press Vice Dies Watch Repair Kit

A case press remains stationary on the bench while the spindle brings square, controlled force down upon the work. We supply our 55-052 with two distinct materials for the lower stakes. You choose between synthetic Bakelite and turned duraluminum to seat the work according to the job at hand.

The Bakelite stakes

Bakelite provides a firm seat without the cold hardness of metal. We turn these lower stakes with stepped recesses so the case rim rests flat while the center clearance remains open. Keep them clean of bench grit before seating a piece.

The duraluminum stakes

For closures that demand a rigid base under the spindle, we supply lower stakes turned from duraluminum. These range from 18 to 34 mm in diameter to match various case dimensions. They drop directly into the press base.

The universal lower stake

The universal lower stake accommodates irregular cases and odd case backs that do not seat cleanly into standard stepped diameters. It supports the perimeter while clearing protruding pushers or winding stems that extend past the case edge.

Spindle and frame alignment

The cast frame maintains vertical travel so the upper die descends parallel to the base. You feel the resistance directly through the lever or wheel, allowing you to seat bezels or snap backs squarely without tilting the work.
